Yoga for Chronic Back Pain with Kristabelle Irons

We will journey through some of the different limbs of yoga, including Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathwork), Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation). The class will be accessible to all levels, props will be encouraged, and options will be offered throughout the class to cater to your specific needs.

The class will also explain the basic science behind pain and the utilisation of yoga as a strategy to manage your symptoms.

This class will not be suitable for anyone who is experiencing Lower Back Pain (LBP) for the first time, and the pain has been present for less than 3 months. If you are currently having a severe flare-up of LBP and if you have started to experience any new (less than three months) nerve-related pain from your back and anywhere into your leg or foot, then the class will not be suitable.

If you have any of the above, please seek medical advice if you have not already done so.

Kristabelle, who is guiding you through this practice, is an MSK specialist physiotherapist working in the NHS, and she regularly treats patients with Chronic Lower Back Pain and prescribes yoga postures and breathing techniques as part of a management plan. Kristabelle has personal experience of back pain and sciatica, which is well managed with some of the techniques she uses within the class.
