International Day of Yoga 2019
This is the sequence we practiced at our celebration of International Day of Yoga on Friday 21 June 2019.
We combined yin, vinyasa, hatha and restorative styles in this practice.
All levels except absolute beginners
Knee to chest, hip opening, twisting
Three rounds of Classical Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskara)
Two rounds of Sun Salutation B with High Lunge (Ashta Chandrasana) variation on the second round
Eagle balance (Garudasana) transitioning into Warrior III (Virabhadrasana III) with Eagle arms
Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II)
Half Moon (Ardha Chandrasana)
Tree (Vrksasana) with Half Lotus (Ardha Padmasana) option
Arm balance practice: Plank, Garland, Crow, Eight Angle (Kumbhakasana, Malasana, Bakasana, Astravakrasana)
Head to Knee (Janu Sirsasana)
Supported Childs Pose or Supported Twist
Stonehenge Savasana or other Savasana variation
