On the first Friday of each month we offer an extended practice of 90 minutes. Each month the class focuses on a specific aspect of our yoga practice. The focus might be a specific posture, a theme, a part of the body or a group of poses.
In October we are working on Chaturanga Dandasana - the Four Limbed Staff Pose - also sometimes called Low Plank.
Chaturanga Dandasana is a challenging full-body pose which requires lots of stability, strength and control. It’s an important part of sun salutations, vinyasa and flow practices but in a general class there’s rarely time to break it down and spend the time to really get to grips with the pose.
Suitable for yogis of all levels of experience. However, the practice is not recommended for students with wrist, shoulder and elbow injuries or recent surgeries.
Your suggestions for possible future ‘focuses’ are welcomed!
